Materials
We work with reputable manufacturers that are part of exclusive The Plumb Club and are members of Responsible Jewelry Council.
18k and 14k white, yellow, and rose gold as well as platinum.
Our 14K yellow consist of gold alloy 4.98% zinc, 4.77% silver, 31.75% copper, and 58.5% gold.
Our 18K gold alloy is 75% gold, 15% silver, and 10% copper
Our 14K white gold is 6.12% zinc, 22.92% copper, 11.67% nickel, .79% other, and 58.5% gold
Our 18K white gold alloy consist of 75% gold, 14% copper, 5% zinc and 6% nickel.
Yes, our white gold is always rhodium-plated - unless you request otherwise.
Our platinum alloy is 95% platinum and 5% ruthenium (member of the platinum family).
Our 18K rose gold is 75% gold, 24% copper, 1% silver with trace elements of zinc. The zinc accentuates the color of the copper and gives it a lovely blush pink hue. We are phasing out 14k rose gold as due to the higher copper content, it tends to tarnish.
Making Your ring and customization
It depends on whether you'd like a completely custom piece from scratch or customization of an existing piece.
If you are interested in placing a completely custom order, we will require an initial $100 deposit (that will go towards the ring) to create the CAD to confirm or fine-tune your design as well as start the stone sourcing process. Once you approve the CAD, we will then ask for a 50% deposit before starting the production, with the remaining 50% due upon completion of the ring.
If you want to customize an existing piece from our inventory, such as changing the number of prongs or the carat size of the gemstone - as an example, there will be no additional charge unless significantly more materials are required.
A CAD will be provided within 3 days after placing an order. The ring production takes approximately 3 weeks after the CAD has been approved.
If you need your ring made quicker than 3 weeks, we have the capability to decrease the production process to 1.5 weeks with an additional charge. Just let us know if you need it faster.
Yes! And the process is super easy - simply type all the requests you have in the "Customization Request" box while placing an order, and we will make it happen for you.
There are a few ways you can get your dream piece with our customized design:
- You can customize an existing piece while placing an order - simply type your design wishes in the "Customization Request" box.
- You can send us a custom request or build your own ring by filling out an Online Request form. The form will guide you step by step, from selecting the stone type (carat size, color, clarity, etc.) to choosing the setting, basket, prong style, and metals of your choice. Once we receive the form, we will review it. If we have any questions, we will follow up with you via email as well as discuss the cost. After placing an order, you will receive a CAD design in 3 days. Once you approve the cad, we will then proceed with the production process.
- You can book a free and non-obligatory Zoom/phone Consultation with us. During the consultation, we will gather all your requirements. If you decide to work with us after the appointment, we will follow the same process as mentioned above.
We do accept a 50% deposit, with the remaining payment due after the ring has been completed.
Once your ring design is finalized, we will curate a list of stones for you to choose from based on your requirements and price point. We work with natural diamonds, lab-grown diamonds, Moissanite, as well as other colored gemstones. Additionally, we are able to source stones to provide you with additional photos or videos to help you select your perfect stone.
It depends on whether the ring has been made or how far along it is in the production process. We are happy to accommodate your request and will evaluate it on a case-by-case basis. We strive to be as accommodating as possible to meet your needs.

Warranty
We strongly stand behind our products and offer one year manufacturer's warranty. This warranty covers issues that arise due to manufacturing, but does not cover regular wear and tear.
Examples of common jewelry issues that would be considered manufacturing defects include:
- Stones that become loose in a newly made ring.
- Newly-made rings that easily bend or deform without significant force.
- Rings that were made with the incorrect material, such as white gold instead of platinum.
Examples of common jewelry issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects:
- Discoloration resulting from exposure to chemicals, make-up, or baths and swimming pools
- Normal wear and tear causing prongs and precious metals to wear over time, requiring maintenance or restoration work.
- Prongs becoming bent, caught, or worn out, leading to stone loss or damage due to regular wear or other factors.
- Stones being lost or falling out due to chipping or breaking caused by normal wear or other damage.
If your jewelry requires attention due to damage, please contact us for instructions on shipping your ring to us. Prior to shipping, we will request a $50 deposit to cover the cost of two-way shipping (we will provide a shipping label via email). Once received, our team will assess your ring to determine if the damage is covered by our warranty. If the repair work is covered, the deposit will be fully refunded. In the case that the repair is not covered, we will provide you with an estimated cost for your approval before proceeding with any repairs. If you approve the repairs, the deposit will be applied to the total cost. If you decline the repairs, the deposit will be used to cover the return shipping charge after evaluation.

Resizing
With the exception of eternity bands and certain intricate designs, most rings can be resized up to 1 1/2 sizes larger or smaller than their current size. For engagement rings or wedding bands, one complimentary resizing is included as long as the adjustment falls within the 1 1/2 size limit. Each additional sizing beyond that incurs a fee of $65.00. In cases where resizing is not possible, remanufacturing the ring is required, and a separate fee will apply. If your ring has an engraving, the resizing process may result in the partial loss of the engraving. If you wish to have the ring re-engraved, a fee of $15 will be applied.
Email us at customer@magdalenepivoine.com with your address (subject line: Ring Sizer Request), and we will mail a ring sizer to you.
