Our 18K white gold alloy consist of 75% gold, 14% copper, 5% zinc and 6% nickel.
Yes, our white gold is always rhodium-plated - unless you request otherwise.
Our platinum alloy is 95% platinum and 5% ruthenium (member of the platinum family).
Our 18K rose gold is 75% gold, 24% copper, 1% silver with trace elements of zinc. The zinc accentuates the color of the copper and gives it a lovely blush pink hue. We are phasing out 14k rose gold as due to the higher copper content, it tends to tarnish.
Making Your ring and customization
It depends on whether you'd like a completely custom piece from scratch or customization of an existing piece.
If you are interested in placing a completely custom order, we will require an initial $100 deposit (that will go towards the ring) to create the CAD to confirm or fine-tune your design as well as start the stone sourcing process. Once you approve the CAD, we will then ask for a 50% deposit before starting the production, with the remaining 50% due upon completion of the ring.
If you want to customize an existing piece from our inventory, such as changing the number of prongs or the carat size of the gemstone - as an example, there will be no additional charge unless significantly more materials are required.
A CAD will be provided within 3 days after placing an order. The ring production and delivery to you takes approximately 3 weeks after the CAD has been approved.
If you need your ring made quicker than 3 weeks, we have the capability to decrease the production process to 1.5 weeks with an additional charge of $250. Just let us know if you need it faster.
Yes! And the process is super easy - simply type all the requests you have in the "Customization Request" box while placing an order, and we will make it happen for you.
There are a few ways you can get your dream piece with our customized design:
- You can customize an existing piece while placing an order - simply type your design wishes in the "Customization Request" box.
- You can send us a custom request or build your own ring by filling out an Online Request Form. The form will guide you step by step, from selecting the stone type (carat size, color, clarity, etc.) to choosing the setting, basket, prong style, and metals of your choice. Once we receive the form, we will review it. If we have any questions, we will follow up with you via email and discuss the cost. After placing an order, we will select your dream gemstone and then provide you with a CAD design within 3 business days. Once you approve the CAD design, we will proceed with the production.
- You can book a free and non-obligatory Zoom/phone Consultation with us. During the consultation, we will gather all your requirements. If you decide to work with us after the appointment, we will follow the same process as mentioned above.
We do accept a 50% deposit, with the remaining payment due after the ring has been completed.
After we finalize the design and all specifications, but before creating the CAD model, we will begin the process of selecting gemstones. We will contact our trusted partners and provide you with a selection of top-quality gemstones for you to choose from.
It depends on whether the ring has been made or how far along it is in the production process. We are happy to accommodate your request and will evaluate it on a case-by-case basis. We strive to be as accommodating as possible to meet your needs.
You have three free CAD change requests. For each additional change request after that, there will be a $25 charge applied.
Yes, we can provide you with 3D ring mock-up or wax prototype.

Warranty
We strongly stand behind our products and offer limited lifetime warranty on the craftsmanship of our jewelry.
We offer free lifetime polishing and jewelry cleaning.
Our manufacturing warranty covers manufacturing issues and most minor repairs within the first year.
Examples of common jewelry issues that would be considered manufacturing defects are:
- Stones that fall out or become loose in a newly made ring.
- Newly-made rings that easily bend or deform without significant force.
- Rings that were made with the incorrect material, such as white gold instead of platinum.
Examples of common jewelry issues that would not be considered manufacturing defects:
- Discoloration resulting from exposure to chemicals, make-up, or baths and swimming pools
- Normal wear and tear causing prongs and precious metals to wear over time, requiring maintenance or restoration work.
- Prongs becoming bent, caught, or worn out, leading to stone loss or damage due to regular wear or other factors.
- Stones being lost or falling out due to chipping or breaking caused by normal wear or other damage.
After one year, minor repairs incur a service fee.
If your jewelry requires attention due to damage, please contact us at customer@magdalenepivoine.com for instructions on shipping your ring to us. Prior to shipping, we will request a $50 deposit to cover the cost of two-way shipping (we will provide a shipping label via email). Once received, our team will assess your ring to determine if the damage is covered by our warranty. If the repair work is covered, the deposit will be fully refunded. In the case that the repair is not covered, we will provide you with an estimated cost for your approval before proceeding with any repairs. If you approve the repairs, the deposit will be applied to the total cost. If you decline the repairs, the deposit will be used to cover the return shipping charge after evaluation.
Any repair or service by someone other than Magdalene Pivoine will void this warranty.
